Guwahati: The ‘Girls Under-15 Inter-District Cricket Tournament 2024’ is slated to begin on Saturday (July 20) in different venues across Assam.

The teams for the tournament, organised by the Assam Cricket Association (ACA), have been divided into four groups – A, B, C and D.

While Group A, comprising Silchar, Guwahati, Naharkatia, Charaideo, Nazira, Kaliabor and Bokakhat, will play their matches in state capital Guwahati from July 20 onwards, Group B, comprising Goalpara, Karbi Anglong, Karimganj, Nalbari, Bongaigaon and Bilasipara, will compete in Karbi Anglong’s Diphu from July 23.

On the other hand, Group C, comprising Golaghat, Lakhimpur, Tinsukia, Mangaldoi, Nagaon, Sivasagar and Hailakandi, will play their matches in Golaghat from July 20 onwards, and Group D, comprising Morigaon, Jorhat, Kokrajhar, Tezpur, Rangia and Hojai, will compete in Hojai from July 23.

While the semi-finals are scheduled for August 2, the final match of the tournament will be played on August 4. The venues for the semifinals and the final will be announced shortly.

The tournament aims to promote women’s cricket in Assam and provide a platform for the young girls of the state to showcase their talents.
