The All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) on Thursday staged a protest in front of Jorhat Deputy Commissioner’s office demanding scrapping of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) 2019.

Leaders of several indigenous tribes and groups as well as Gana Adhikar Sangram Samity (GASS) took part in the protest which was organised by maintaining social distancing and wearing masks.

The protesters shouted slogans seeking withdrawal of the amended Citizenship Act and against the BJP-led governments both at the Centre and in Assam.
