Udalguri chapter of  All Assam Students’ Union (AASU ) along with its Tangla regional unit extended a helping hand to residents of Amar Gaon.

The delegation of the student body provided ration and clothes to the residents of the village- who are primarily the dwarf artistes of the theatre group called ‘Dapon-The Mirror’.

The delegation comprised of AASU’s Udalguri president Pranjal Patowary and its Tangla president and secretary.

“In compliance with AASU advisor Samujjal Bhattacharya’s commitment to stand by our artistes,  our every regional chapter has been extending aid to the artistes,” said Pranjal Deka.

“Hence, we are here today to contribute our share to these artistes here,” he added.

Dapon-The Mirror is a theatre troupe started by NSD graduate Pabitra Rabha and the artistes working in this troupe are only dwarves.

Amar Gaon is a village which has been specially set up for the dwarf people.

Pabitra Rabha thanked the AASU members for standing by the artistes and acting as their guardians amid the lockdown.
