Rahimuddin Ahmed Road in ward number 15 of Hojai town is gaining appreciation from all the corners.

This 275 meter long road which was in dilapidated condition now has been newly renovated with cc blocks with an estimated amount of Rs 17,35,000 from Hojai Municipal Board.

The main reason why this road is in limelight is also because it is the first road of Hojai to have CCTV cameras installed for security.

On the other hand, hanging flower pots, saplings planted on sides of the road with net protection within every two meter, cleanliness, dustbins at sides of roads and colourful walls are adding attraction to the road and are creating an atmosphere of freshness.

Talking to this correspondent on Wednesday, Hossein Mohammed Nazmul, ward commissioner of ward number 15 said, “We are happy that Rahimuddin Ahmed road is becoming an ideal road for others to emulate, is getting attention and praise from all sides.”

“Every day people are coming to see this road, which gives us satisfaction and encourages us to do more for the society in innovative way,” he added.

“We along with the support and contribution of people of this ward came up with some innovative ideas like installing three CCTV cameras for security, planting sapling within every two meters on sides of the road, hanging flower pots, painting meaningful wall art, dustbin for cleanliness,” he further said.

He also said that water filters will also be installed soon for passers-by to have drinking water facility.

He further said, “We are planning to form a development committee of 20 members for the ward for its maintenance and further initiative.”
