Assam: 822 land allotment certificates, pattas distributed in Baksa

A total of 822 land documents including 397 land allotment certificates and 425 land pattas were distributed to indigenous people during a function at the Cultural Complex in Mushalpur, the district headquarters of Baksa.

A total of 103 allotment certificates and pattas to landless indigenous people under six revenue circles of Baksa district were distributed in the function organised under the aegis of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) and the district administration of Baksa.

The deputy chief executive member of BTC, Gobinda Basumatary participated in the land documents distribution function.

While speaking on the occasion, Basumatary said, “The indigenous people must aware of their rights on land.”

He also spoke on the future programmes of the newly-formed council regarding the land rights for the people of the region.

The MLA of Tamulpur Legislative Assembly Constituency, Imanuel Moshahary, also spoke on the occasion.

Earlier, Baksa deputy commissioner Ranjan Sharma in his welcome address described the features of new Land Land Policy 2019 of the Assam government.

Kokrajhar Lok Sabha MP Naba Sarania, BTC executive member Diganta Barua, BTC Speaker Katiram Boro and MCLA Rakesh Brahma were also present in the function.
