Assam: 64.80 per cent pass HSLC examination as boys outshine girls

Dhritiraj Bastav Kalita of Padum Pukhuri High School (Darrang) has topped the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination, 2020, the result of which was announced on Saturday morning.

Dhritiraj scored 595 out of 600 marks, one mark more than 2019 HSLC topper Meghashree Bora of Lakhimpur.

Scoring a total of 594 marks, Alangkrita Gautam Baruah of Dibrugarh) has been placed in the second position.

Debisma Priya Borah (Lakhimpur), Jyotisman Deva Sarma (Nalbari) and Chaki G Bulton (Kamrup Metro) bagged the third position and they scored a total of 591 marks.

Namashya Deka of Nalbari and Hiyashree Sarma of Kamrup (Metro) are in joint fourth position and they scored a total of 590 marks.

The fifth position is shared by three candidates- Manash Uttam Neog (Dibrugarh), Ankurjyoti Bezbaruah (Kamrup), and Hirak Jyoti Baishya (Nalbari) and they scored a total of 589 marks.

The sixth position is shared by four candidates and they are- Harsh Vardhan Maheshwari of Barpeta, Haridra Bora of Golaghat, Ranuj Jyoti Baruah of Lakhimpur, and Himashree Baruah of Sivasagar and they scored a total of 588 marks.

Avilasha Dutta of Lakhimpur and Jhalak Jalan of Nagaon are jointly placed at the seventh position and they scored a total of 587 marks.

There are five candidates in the eighth position and they are Anisha Roy of Cachar, Nikhilesh Dutta of Kamrup, Simran Borah of Lakhimpur, Antariksh Hazarika of Sivasagar, and Anwesha Changkakoti of Tinsukia and they scored a total of 586 marks.

A total of ten students share the ninth position and they are Bhrigu Mohan Kumar of Darrang, Rajdeep Baruah of Golaghat, Niharika Bharali of Golaghat, Silpi Sikha Deka of Nagaon, Masum Mehtab of Nalbari, Imon Baishya of Nalbari, Abhinab Gogoi of Sivasagar, Abinash Keot of Tinsukia, Ananya Medhi of Kamrup (Metro), and Niraj Khetan of Kamrup (Metro) and they scored a total of 585 marks.

The 10th position has been shared by 11 students and they are Puja Banerjee of Barpeta, Prerana Deka of Baongaigaon, Paarsaa Tasneem Barbhuiya of Cachar, Anandita Konwar of Dibrugarh, Bhargav Jyoti Das of Kamrup, Alindita Kalita of Karbi Anglong, Diwiz Bikash of Lakhimpur, Ankita Dey of Nagaon, Rittik Kumar Sut of Nagaon, Sashanka Haloi of Nalbari, and Misbahul Karim of Sonitpur and they scored a total of 584 marks.

The overall pass percentage of HSLC examination this year is 64.80, an increase from last year’s 60.23 per cent.

The break-up of pass percentage for male and female candidates in the HSLC examination stands at 66.93 and 62.91 respectively.

A total of 3,42,224 students appeared this year in HSLC examination of which 48,278 passed with first division marks, 77,850 in the second division, and 95,829 in the third division.
