Crimes against women and minors continue unabated in Assam.
In a shocker reported from Silchar in Assam’s Cachar district, a 63-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly molesting a minor girl.
The accused – B Borgohain, a music teacher by profession, allegedly touched private parts of the nine-year-old girl.
The incident came to light after the parents of the minor girl lodged an FIR at the Rangpur police station in Silchar, Assam.

Silchar Police said: “The minor girl complained of pain in the pelvic area and did not wish to attend music classes. Following which, parents of the girl confronted the music teacher and the accused admitted to committing the crime.”
The parents of the minor girl also alleged that the accused had offered them money for not taking up the matter with police.
Meanwhile, the Silchar police have arrested the accused.
