On Saturday, Harish Rawat, during his Hojai visit along with Ripun Bora, lashed out at the Sarbananda Sonowal Government in Assam stating “Sonowal Government is playing ‘Divide and Rule’ game by segregating the society for their own benefit.”

Rawat said this while speaking to media persons in a condolence meeting organised by the Hojai District Congress Committee at Juraphukuri under Hojai district.

Referring to the recent killing of five innocent civilians at Dhola in Tinsukia district, Rawat attacked the Sonowal Government for its failure to provide proper security to the common people “though they have inputs from security agencies”. He said, “It’s complete failure of the BJP Government to maintain peace in Assam. But in the 15-year reign of Congress Government there was complete peace and tranquility in the State.”
