Manipur Assam: Mid-day meal cook murdered inside school by brother-in-law

Guwahati: As Assam as well as the entire region deals with severe heat, a 38-year-old man in the Karimganj district died of a heatstroke.

The deceased was identified as Amar Sinha, a security guard working at the Badarpur Ghat BVCL Cement Factory in Karimganj.

Sinha was on duty when he suddenly collapsed.

Some of the other men near him rushed him to the hospital but he died on the way.

The doctors confirmed that he died of heatstroke.

He was a resident of Patharkandi, Karimganj and joined the company as a security guard just two days ago, a local said.

Further investigations are being carried out.

It may be mentioned that temperatures crossed over 34 degrees Celsius on Sunday while some reports said that it crossed over 36 in Karimganj.

Assam overall had reported extreme heat this week.
