Three illegal medical stores and one laboratory in Dhubri were sealed on Saturday by the district administration.

Taking action against the illegal medical stores and laboratory, Dhubri deputy commissioner Dev Kumar Kalita ordered a probe against all the medical stores.

The district administration sealed the Sobhana Medical Store, Parvin Medical and City Medical due to lack of retail license while one laboratory located at Gauripur town, namely Mirja Medi Hub, was also sealed during the drive.

The said medical stores and laboratory were selling medicines and conducting medical tests without having any valid license from the competent authorities.

A team of officials, led by additional deputy commissioner (health) Sarfaraj Hoque, conducted a raid in different medical stores on Saturday evening after an order issued by deputy commissioner Dev Kumar Kalita.

The store owners failed to produce their retail licenses, so the district administration sealed the medical stores, said an official.

In this connection, an FIR has been lodged against the owner of City Medical while lawful action has been initiated against the owners of the other medical stores.
