After arrest of 3 ISIS-inspired persons, the Goalpara police on Wednesday arrested three members of Popular Front of India, a national level pro-Muslim organisation.
The trio is identified as advocate Zinna Amir Hussain of Krishnai, Habibur Rahman and Sobur Ali of Bhalukdubi in Goalpara town.

“They were arrested for inciting communal violence and trying to polarise the religious minority people,” said a highly-placed police source.
The members of the organisation reportedly circulated pamphlets on Friday among religious Muslim people regarding the Supreme Court verdict on Babri Masjid during the Jumma prayer.
The pamphlet reportedly had religiously provoking contents.

A case has been registered in this regard at the Goalpara Sadar police station
The case (No. 691/19) has been registered under sections 295/153 A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Section 295 of the IPC is charged for destruction, damage or defilement of a place of worship or an object held sacred, with intent to insult the religion of a class of persons, punishable with imprisonment which may extend to two years, or with fine, or with both.
Section 153A of the IPC deals with the offence of promoting disharmony, enmity or feelings of hatred between different groups on the grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc. and doing acts prejudicial to maintenance of harmony.
On the other hand, after 72 hours of the arrest of the three persons, who were inspired by ISIS, from Goalpara, there is uneasy calmness prevails in the district.
As the interrogation by the Special Branch of the Delhi Police continues, the local police remain tight-lipped.
“Since the matter is very serious, the police are carrying out its investigation very seriously,” said SB Sarma, superintendent of police, Goalpara while talking to a section of media.
Police sources revealed that no national level investigation agency like NIA or CBI has so far interrogated the accused youths.
The family members of all the three ISIS-inspired youths have denied before the media that the Delhi Police’s accusations that the trio was associated with any terrorist group.
