An earthquake of magnitude 3.8 on the Richter scale was hit north Assam’s Sonitpur district on Sunday.
The quake was reported at 2.40 pm with its epicenter 35 km west of Tezpur, according to the National Centre of Seismology (NCS).

The depth of the quake was 5 km.

Earlier on Wednesday, an earthquake of magnitude 3.5 on the Richter scale struck Assam’s Tezpur.
So far, no causality or damage of any property reported.
