Police arrived at the scene immediately after the incident and admitted all of the injured passengers to the nearest hospital. The conditions of the injured are said to be critical.

It may be mentioned that cracks appeared in an RCC bridge over river Krishnai near the Krishnai town on NH-37 in May last.

Since then the vehicles plying through the NH-37 via Krishnai are temporarily plying through Goalpara town connecting the NH-37 again at Dudhnoi.

This has suddenly increased the vehicular traffic on the road from Goalpara town to Dudhnoi via Mornoi Sainik School. This has also been instrumental in the rise of road mishaps in this route.

The road mishap on Wednesday was a result of this increasing burden on this narrow road. People have demanded immediate opening of the bridge at Krishnai.
