In a bid to fight against the COVID19, the Udalguri district administration on Monday provided a total of 1,32,400 triple-layer masks to all 25 tea estates of the district.
The triple-layers distributed on Monday include the 50,000 face masks already handed over by Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal on April 18 last.

Informing this in a statement, Udalguri deputy commissioner Prakash Ranjan Gharphaliya said five teams under five executive magistrates distributed the triple-layer masks to the tea garden workers of 25 tea estates of the district on Monday.
Assistant commissioners of Udalguri district Nirmal Jyoti Sarmah, Dimple Baruah, Kushal Kalita, Nilakshi Baishya and election officer Nilotpal Pathak were assigned to carry put the distribution of the masks which was carried out completely.
The mask distribution was carried out in pursuance of a government order received from the executive director of the National Health Mission, Assam.

Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Saturday handed over 50,000 masks meant for the tea garden workers of Udalguri district during his visit to the district to take stock of the preparedness of the district to fight COVID19 pandemic.
Amid the ongoing lockdown, along with other parts of Assam, the tea garden workers in Udalguri district have also resumed plucking tea leaves by maintaining social distancing norms.
