A 13-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a youth at Phulaguri under Raha police station in Central Assam’s Nagaon district.
Police said the incident took place on Tuesday and the accused has been identified as Shantanu Saikia, a resident of Petboha village.

The 35-year-old accused reportedly committed the crime when the girl’s parents were not at home, police said.

A case was also registered against the youth at Raha police station based on a complaint filed by the girl’s family.
