Eleven out of the 138 girls of DCB Girls’ College in upper Assam’s Jorhat tested positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday.
Jorhat deputy commissioner Roshni A Korati said out of the 11 girls, three who were to appear for semester exams have been kept in isolation in the hostel and will appear for the exams from there.

The other eight girls have been isolated at home. The DC said that the other eight did not have exams.
The number of Covid-19 positive cases increased to 19 after almost three months of zero or single-digit positive cases indicating a surge of Covid 19 in the district.
Apprehending the spread of Covid-19, the district administration had also set up RAT testing facilities in major colleges like JB College and CKB College in Jorhat and NN Saikia College in Titabar subdivision.

The 148 in JB College and 40 tested in NN Saikia College all tested negative.
Out of the 87 RTPCR tests conducted mostly in the airport and Jorhat Medical College and Hospital, six tested positive.
In Jorhat district, 71 deaths have been recorded and there are 38 active cases.
The total number of positive cases till date is 12,426.
