A health staffer in North Assam’s Lakhimpur district carried a Covid-19 patient on his back putting his life at risk.

PPE-clad 108 ambulance staff Gopal Saikia had to carry the patient for almost half kilometres to reach an ambulance, India Today reported.

The deplorable condition of road leading to the patient home at Ghilamara area in Dhakuakhana did not allow the ambulance to reach there.

Saikia carried the patient from his house to the ambulance on Saturday.

In a video, which has gone viral on social media, Gopal Saikia, wearing a PPE kit, was seen carrying the patient on his back.

The video has won the hearts of people online. Netizens have praised the health staffer Saikia for his dedication.
