The Covid-19 death toll in Assam’s Dhubri district has reached 54 with one more fatality, while 82 people have tested positive for Covid-19.

With this the total positive cases in the district has reached 4921 on Friday.

A 33-year-old man of ward number 13 of Dhubri town succumbed to the infection at the Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College and Hospital in Barpeta on Friday.

The number of active cases in the district stands at 1080 on Friday, according to the data released by the Dhubri district health department.

A  total 3787 Covid-19 patients have been recovered from the disease in Dhubri so far.

A total of 4808 samples were tested for Covid-19 on Friday, of which rapid antigen tests were conducted on 3,633 samples and RT – PCR tests were conducted on 1,175 samples.

In the Dhubri municipal area, 418 samples were tested for the virus, of which 12 have been detected to be positive.

Meanwhile, the district health authority has requested all citizens in the age group of 18-44 years, who had taken the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine before May 7 to avail the second dose at the same vaccination centre or as decided by the district authority.
