The Covid-19 death toll in Assam’s Dhubri district reached 50 after one more person succumbed to the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours.
A 62-year-old man from Anand Nagar area of Bilasipara town in the district succumbed to the virus.

A total of 102 new positive cases were reported in the district on Tuesday and with this the total cumulative cases rose to 4,650.
There are 1,296 active cases in the district, while the number of recoveries increased to 3,304.
Meanwhile, the Piramal Foundation and LIC, India joined hands with Dhubri district administration in the fight against the ongoing pandemic.

The Piramal Foundation donated 14 oxygen concentrators, 100 face shields, 500 N-95 masks and 70 pulse oximeters.

LIC, India also donated 150 PPE kits and 750 N-95 masks to the district administration.
The district administration later handed over all these items to the office of the district health department.
“We hope to fight against the virus in a better and more effective way with cooperation from various organizations and the public, said Dhubri deputy commissioner Anbamuthan MP.
The deputy commissioner on Tuesday also visited the special vaccination session organized at the Dhubri Civil Hospital.
A total 290 personnel from the Assam State Disaster Management Authority and employees of petrol pumps and gas agencies were vaccinated during the session.
