Another Delhi-based Assam journalist succumbed to the Covid-19 in the national capital on Saturday.

Journalist Anirban Bora, who worked with The Economic Times in New Delhi as the graphic editor, passed away at a hospital in New Delhi.

Bora was 42. He leaves behind his wife and a son.

New Delhi-based senior Assamese journalist Kalyan Baruah also passed away on Saturday morning due to Covid-19 related complications.

Baruah, who worked with The Assam Tribune, as New Delhi bureau chief, died in a private hospital in the national capital while undergoing treatment for the Covid-19 infection.

His wife, Nilakshi Bhattacharyya passed away battling COVID-19 at a private hospital in New Delhi on Thursday.

At least 101 journalists have died due to COVID-19 in India from April 2020 till 28 April 2021.

According to a study by the Delhi-based Institute of Perception Studies, of these deaths, 52 were reported in April 2021.

Additionally, over 50 journalists have passed away due to COVID-related complications since January, 2021.
