Guwahati: Raijor Dal president and Sivasagar MLA Akhil Gogoi on Wednesday criticised the Assam government and police, demanding the immediate arrest of those who allegedly harassed a foreign woman during American rapper Post Maloneโ€™s concert in Guwahati.

Gogoi condemned the perpetrators and described the incident as a โ€˜very seriousโ€™ disgrace to the state and the country, stating, โ€œWhich Assamese or which Indian touched a foreign woman at the Post Malone concert? Arrest those miscreantsย at once!โ€

He elaborated, “We have seen on social media that a foreign lady was physically assaulted at the Post Malone programme. She has alleged it clearly. The Assam Government and police must take immediate action. The miscreants must be punished.โ€

The allegation was first made public by Southeast Asian traveller and Instagram creator Emma (@discover_emma) in a widely circulated video post on December 9.

Emma and her friend Amina were allegedly repeatedly groped and harassed within minutes of entering the VIP mosh pit area at the December 8 concert held at Khanapara Veterinary Ground.
