Police have nabbed one person, Dilwar Ali Mondol, a resident of Kirtanpara area under Abhayapuri police station, suspecting his involvement in the incident.

Bongaigaon SP Hridayjit Barman said a dispute over a plot of land seems to be one of the reasons for his murder.

โ€œWe are investigating into the incident. He clashed with Dilwar and some other locals over a plot land few days ago. So land dispute might be a reason for his murder,โ€ Barman said.

Few days back, Hafiz was arrested by police for allegedly assaulting few villagers over the land dispute.

Police have sent the body for post-mortem examination.
