Bengal’s film celebrities Nusrat Jahan and Paoli Dam have pitched for all-out support to flood victims in Assam.
The lead heroines of Bengal’s thriving film industry have posted tweets asking for support for the flood victims.
Paoli’s husband Arjun Deb is a Guwahati boy but Nusrat, who is also a Trinamool Congress MP, have no connection to Assam whatsoever.
“My heart goes out to every life in Assam. Let’s come together during this situation caused by natural calamities,” tweeted Nusrat. She also shared a video of the Assam floods with her tweet.
“Absolutely heartbroken to know how humans and animals are so devastatingly affected by the flood in Assam. We should all come together and do whatever little bit we can,” tweeted Paoli.

Filmmaker Birsa Dasgupta also joined the pitch, specially highlighting the situation at Kaziranga National Park.
“With floods wrecking havoc in Assam, 70 per cent of Kaziranga National Park is submerged. All the areas you see in these photos are now under water. Unfortunate but true, the uncertainties of life,” tweeted Dasgupta.

These Bengali celebs joined a few from Bollywood like Akshay Kumar, John Abraham and Priyanka Chopra, who have already tried to draw attention to the devastating Assam floods.
Cricketers like Indian captain Viraat Kohli and former players like Yuvraj Singh and Suresh Raina have also asked all Indians to come forward to help the flood hit people of Assam.
