An Assamese trader Ghanashyam Mishra, a resident of Tiruwal village of Nakachari in Jorhat district  escaped from the captivity of Naga militants on Friday and reached at Haluwating Police Station in Sivasagar district.

According to report Mishra had been staying near Check of Assam Nagaland boarder.On November 28 while he was going towards Nagaland at about 9.30 pm, a group of four militants with arms and ammunition kidnapped him from nearby Tuli Paper mill.

The militants allegedly demanded a ransom of rupees one lakh from Mishra.  When Mishra expressed his inability to meet their demand, the militants tortured him mercilessly. On November 29, taking advantage of darkness Mishra managed to flee from himself from the clutches of his abductors and reached the police station.
