Members of the All Assam, Students’ Union (AASU) have taken out a rally in protest against the failure of the government to check the high prices of fuel and essential commodities in Mangaldai in the Darrang district.
The AASU members began their procession from the Swahid Bhawan in Mangaldai on Saturday and marched forward through the main streets of the town.

Several AASU office bearers and members could be seen participating in the rally, shouting slogans against the government for its complete failure to check the rising prices of essential commodities.
On the other hand, AASU members also took out a rally at Swahid Nyas in Uzan Bazar in Guwahati.
They marched through the city streets carrying placards and empty cooking gas and all the while shouting slogans demanding immediate steps from the government to control the rising price of fuel and essential commodities.

While some of them even wore garlands made of onions and potatoes to drive their point home, a few protestors could be seen beating steel plates and tumblers during the processing.
Similarly, AASU members also carried out a similar protest against price hike in Biswanath Chariali in Biswanath district.
