“Patients from upper Assam come to Dibrugarh for treatment, but it is seen that private nursing homes and laboratories charge exorbitant rates. It is unethical. Most of the laboratories don’t even have proper documents. Technicians, who work in those laboratories don’t have proper degree or certificate,” Gogoi alleged.

“If within 20 days, the health department fails to take steps against these nursing homes and diagnostic labs then we would place such laboratories and private nursing homes under lock and key,” Gogoi said.
