The All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) and the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) have vehemently opposed the Bhattadev University’s decision to do away with the higher secondary (HS) course.

Bhattadev University, which formerly was Bajali College, has had an impeccable HS records and the decision to remove the HS curriculum has not gone down well with the students’ bodies.

In a memorandum to the university vice-chancellor, the AASU unit of the university has urged the management to reconsider the decision and asked them to not remove the curriculum.

A memorandum has also been sent to state education minister Himanta Biswa Sarma by the university and Bajali unit of ABVP.

Copies of the respective memorandums have also been sent to Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi.
