Eight more positive patients succumbed to COVID19 infections in Assam on Wednesday, taking the state’s death toll to 323.

Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet on Wednesday confirmed the demise of 8 COVID19 patients.

The COVID19 victims are from Dibrugarh, Karimganj, Kamrup Metro and Darrang districts.

The victims have been identified as 63-year-old Shakuntala Sen, 66-year-old Kajal Dutta, 60-year-old Wahida Rahman from Dibrugarh.

The other COVID19 victims have been identified as 75-year-old Madhabi Bhattacharjee, 60-year-old Jamir Uddin from Karimganj; 82-yer-old Prabhat Chandra Bora, 69-year-old Bulu Devi from Kamrup Metro and 72-year-old Prafulla Sagariya from Darrang.

Assam so far has registered a total of 1,11,724 COVID19 positive cases.

A total of 86,892 patients, who were earlier infected by COVID19, have recovered from the disease.

With the demise of 8 more patients, Assam currently has 24,506 COVID19 active cases.
