Congress president Sonia Gandhi has included the name of Nagaon MP Pradyut Bordoloi in the All India Congress Committee formed to plan and coordinate the one-year-long celebration of the 75th anniversary of Independence.
Sharing this information, All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary KC Venugopal in a press statement on Wednesday said: “Congress president has constituted the following committee to plan and coordinate the one-year-long celebration of 75th anniversary of Independence with immediate effect.”
Venugopal informed that the committee constituted by the Congress committee has former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh as the chairman.
Mukul Wasnik has been given the responsibility of the Congress committee’s convenor.
The other members of the committee are AK Antony, Meira Kumar, Ambika Soni, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Pramod Tiwari, Mullappally Ramachandran, KR Ramesh Kumar and Pradyut Bordoloi.
Bobbeeta Sharma, the chairperson of the media department of the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC), has congratulated Pradyut Bordoloi for being given responsibility by Congress president to plan and coordinate the one-year-long celebration of the 75th anniversary of Independence.
“Congratulations to Honourable MP Sri @pradyutbordoloi on representing Assam and North East in this prestigious Committee of AICC,” Bordoloi tweeted.
