Seven more patients died of COVID19 infections in Assam on Monday, taking the state’s death toll to 86.
Confirming the news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in his latest tweet on the state’s COVID19 status said the deaths have been reported from Jorhat, East Karbi Anglong, Kamrup Metro, Dibrugarh and Tinsukia districts.
The deceased have been identified as Tulsi Prasad Deuri, 59, from Jorhat; Joy Singh Bey, 59, from East K Anglong; Mevina Begum, 26, from Kamrup Metro; Dr GMS Chowdhury, 72, from Dibrugarh; Ajoy Mahato, 35, Puspa Roy, 75 and Dinesh Chandra Das, 50, from Tinsukia district, the health minister informed.
With the death of 7 more positive patients, the active COVID19 cases in Assam now stand at 8,099.
Assam so far has registered 32,228 COVID19 positive cases while 24,040 patients have been discharged from various hospitals across the state and 3 cases have migrated.
On Sunday, Assam registered 1,142 new COVID19 positive cases while 985 other patients, who were earlier infected by the virus, were discharged from the hospitals after they tested negative.
