Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal launched free CT Scan service under ‘Chief Minister Free Diagnostic Services’ in Majuli today. The service was launched at the Shri Shri Pitambar Dev Goswami Civil Hospital of the district.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Sonowal expressed hope that the newly introduced service would greatly benefit the people of the district. He emphasized on the issue of maintaining cleanliness in health institutions. He urged the people to extend full cooperation with the hospital authorities in this regard.

Stating that the state government has taken up several new schemes to ensure quality health care service in the government health institutions, Sonowal urged the people to take the benefit of schemes like Atal Amrit Yojana, CM Free Diagnostic Scheme etc.

The new CT Scan machine was installed at an expenditure of Rs 2 crore. Moreover, under Chief Minister Free Diagnostic Services, X-Ray and Laboratory services were introduced in Majuli during 2017 and the services have benefitted around 2041 and 4523 patients respectively.

Lakhimpur MP Pradan Baruah, ATDC Chairman Jayanta Malla Baruah, Deputy Commissioner Pallav Gopal Jha and officials of health department were present at the occasion.
