Manipur reported six more deaths due to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll in the State to 213 on Friday.

221 civilians and three personnel from the Central Armed Police Forces were confirmed positive in the last 24 hours, an official release stated.

The new COVID-19 cases were confirmed at 22 testing facilities in the State.

The new cases from the general population are from 11 districts, the release added. These have been reported from Imphal West (98), Imphal East (25), Thoubal (6), Kangpokpi (3), Bishnupur (15), Kakching (22), Churachandpur (5), Ukhrul (3), Senapati (1), Tamenglong (20) and Chandel (13).

On the other hand, 255 persons, including 132 under home isolation, have been discharged from 16 COVID care facilities in the past 24 hours.

The cumulative number of positive cases in Manipur has now reached 21,425, while the active and recovered cases stand at 3,068 and 18,144 respectively. The recovery rate is 84.68 per cent.

As of Friday, 4, 50,389 people have been screened at various entry points into the State, while 3,82,428 individuals have been tested for COVID-19, said officials.
