4 more die of COVID19 in Assam; death toll mounts to 92

Four more positive patients died of COVID19 infections in Assam on Wednesday, taking the state’s total death toll to 92.

Sharing the news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet on Wednesday said the positive patients, who lost the battle against COVID19 pandemic, are from Cachar, Tinsukia and Jorhat districts.

The health minister informed that the COVID19 victims have been identified as 78-year-old Bimal Paul from Cachar district, 77-year-old Hema Devi from Tinsukia district, 88-year-old Dr S.A.W. Hussain and 40-year-old Debari Karmakar from Jorhat district.

“May God help their families to bear this pain,” the health minister said.

Assam so far has registered a total of 34,947 COVID19 positive cases including 8,238 active cases while 3 cases migrated from the state.

A total of 26,618 patients have been discharged from various hospitals across Assam after they recovered from the disease.

On Tuesday, Assam touched the 8 lakh-mark of COVID19 tests.
