Assam has registered 3 more COVID19 positive cases taking the total to 259.
Confirming the news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday said new positive cases are from Nagaon, Sivasagar, and Tinsukia districts.
“Alert ~ Three more #COVID19 + cases detected, one each from Nagaon, Sivasagar and Tinsukia,” health minister Sarma said in a tweet at 9.15 pm on Friday.
With the new cases, the number of active COVID19 cases in Assam has increased to 198.
Earlier, a total of 54 COVID19 patients were discharged from various hospitals across the state after their recovery.
The deadly disease has so far claimed the lives of 4 persons in Assam while 3 cases were migrated from the state.
“Total cases 259. Recovered 54. Active cases 198. Deaths 04. Migrated 03,” Sarma added.
As per the Union Health Ministry website, India has so far recorded 1,18,447 COVID19 positive cases while 3,583 patients have lost their lives due to the infection.
There are currently 66,330 active COVID19 cases in India while 48,533 patients have been discharged from various hospitals across the country and a case has been migrated.
