3 more die of Covid19 in Assam; toll rises to 961

Assam has registered 3 more Covid19 deaths on Saturday, taking the state’s toll to 961.

Confirming the news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in his latest tweet on the state’s Covid19 update on Saturday said: “Sad to share the demise of 3 #COVID patients today.”

The positive patients, who have succumbed to Covid19 on Saturday, are from Dibrugarh and Kamrup Metro districts.

The deceased have been identified as Mangri Nag (60), Aroti Paul (60) of Dibrugarh and Dipjyoti Sarma (49) of Kamrup Metro, the health minister informed.

“Condolences and prayers! Om Shanti,” sarma said.

Till Friday, Assam registered a total of 2,10,068 Covid19 positive cases.

Of the total positive cases, 2,04,718 patients have returned home after their recovery.
With the demise of 3 more patients, Assam currently has 4,386 active cases.
