An earthquake of magnitude of 3.7 on the Richter scale shook Guwahati and other parts of Assam on Thursday morning.
The tremor was felt at 10:19 am.
According to National Centre for Seismology (NCS) the epicentre of the earthquake was 35 kilometres west of Tezpur in Assam’s Sonitpur district, at latitude 26.9 and longitude 92.44, and at a depth of 25 kilometres.
“Earthquake of Magnitude: 3.7, Occurred on 04-11-2021, 10:19:08 IST, Lat: 26.59 & Long: 92.44, Depth: 25 Km, Location: 35km WSW of Tezpur, Assam,” NCS said in a tweet.

There was no report of any loss of human life or damage to property so far, police said.
Earlier on August 14, an earthquake of 3.3 magnitude shook Assam.
The quake hit at 11.06 am and its epicentre was in Lakhimpur district, the official said.
The earthquake occurred at latitude 27.35 north and longitude 94.19 east at a depth of 10 km.
