21st edition of IITG -Techniche back with bang and greater zeal

The 21st edition of the annual techno-management festival of IIT Guwahati – Techniche is back with a bang and a greater zeal and enthusiasm.

Enthusiasts are ready to pour in from different areas of the country to witness this grandeur and a celebration of technology from August 29 to September 1.

Techniche encompasses events ranging on various facets like technology, management and fun.

Apart from organizing techno-management events, team Techniche has very much contributed to the social development of the premises surrounding IIT Guwahati by organizing ‘wake up and vote campaign’, educating the children present in these areas and also by providing the people with basic life needs and resources.

This edition of Techniche would witness the lights of eminent personalities of wide spectrum of fields like Dr Murli Manohar Joshi, former Ppresident of BJP; Paul Arion, global head of Layout, Double Negative; Pete Michels, animation director, Disney; V K Aatre, former chairman, DRDO; and Nicholas Opie, CTO and Founder at Synchron as a part of lecture series.

Many more eminent personalities will be there as a part of panel discussion.

Speaking during the press meet, Labanu K Konwar, assistant registrar of Public Relations IIT-G said, “Techniche being a complete student body organization, always tries to uplift the technology aspects in north-eastern region and encourages students through its exciting events and interesting competitions.”

“Being one of the largest technical festivals in the country, it gives the Northeast an eminence on a global standard,” he added.

He also said that it provides a platform for many students to prove themselves on a nationwide level.

Following the long tradition of Techniche, the 11thedition of the Guwahati Half Marathon will be back with a greater vehemence and enthusiasm on August 25.

The theme of this edition of the marathon is ‘Run for Clean and Safe Drinking Water’ which appeals to be a part of change intended by creating awareness for saving clean water for the present and future generations.

The event starts from the BhogeswariPhukanani Indoor Stadium, GNRC Road, Dispur.

“A confluence of some of the most logical and technically proficient brains from around the world, an event organized by some of the most passionate about Technology IITians, Techniche is all about showing your caliber, appreciating and respecting the metal in your opponent,” said Suraj Shelke, convener of Techniche’19.

There are other host of activities lined up for Techniche’19.
