Troops of Guwahati Frontier of Border Security Force (BSF) nabbed two cattle smugglers and rescued 89 cattle heads from being smuggled to Bangladesh through the different locations of border districts of Dhubri and South Salmara besides Coochbehar in West Bengal on the intervening night of Wednesday and Saturday.

Acting on tip off, troops of BSF BOP Ratanpur of 140 Bn under Guwahati Frontier carried out a special operation in general area Halwapara village in Coochbehar and apprehended two cattle smugglers along with cattle heads.

Apprehended cattle smugglers were identified as Aidar Rahman (32), resident of Uchalpukri-208 and Abu Bakar Mohammad (31) of Sathgoria in Bengal’s Coochbehar district.

In another incident, BSF troops also rescued 89 cattle heads in various other operations from bordering areas of Dhubri and South Salmara districts while the same were being smuggled from India to Bangladesh.
