Two more persons from Guwahati tested positive for COVID19 on Saturday.

With the new cases, the total COVID19 positive cases registered in Assam has increased to 94.

This was confirmed by Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet at 12.40 am on Sunday.

Earlier, in a tweet at 11.55 pm on Saturday, health minister Sarma informed about the detection of a COVID19 positive case in Sonitpur district.

Informing about the news cases reported in Guwahati, health minister Sarma tweeted: “Alert ~ Two persons from Guwahati test #COVID19 positive.”

With the new cases, the number of active COVID19 cases in Assam has increased to 49.

Earlier, a total of 41 COVID19 patients were discharged from various hospitals across Assam after their recovery.

The deadly disease has so far claimed the lives of two persons in Assam while two persons have been migrated.

“Total cases 94. Recovered 41. Active cases 49. Deaths 2. Migrated 2,” health minister Sarma further tweeted.

India so far has recorded 85,940 confirmed COVID19 cases with 2,752 deaths.

India currently has 53,035 active cases while 30,152 patients have been discharged from hospitals after their recovery.
