Kokrajhar police arrested one Aziyar Rahman for uploading and sharing objectionable contents, links and morphed photographs of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

The youth uploaded and shared the objectionable contents and morphed photographs of Modi and Shah in the timeline of his Facebook account.

Rahman is the son of Md. Nurjamal Sheikh from Singimari village under Fakiragram Police Station in Asam’s Kokrajhar district.

A Kokrajhar police official said, “On August 13, 2019, it was noticed that some highly objectionable and derogatory contents/links as well as morphed photographs of Prime

Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah are being displayed/shared through online social media.”

On the basis of the information, a case was registered at Fakiragram Police Station.

The case No 98/2019 was registered under sections 120(B)/153/153(A)/294/506 of the IPC R/W Sec. 66 IT Act, 2000.

“During detail investigation corroborated by technical analysis, it was found that Aziyar Rahman had uploaded and shared such objectionable contents/photos in the timeline of his own Facebook account,” the police official said.

A search operation was carried out by Kokrajhar police and subsequently Aziyar Rahman was nabbed from Shakti Ashram market area under Fakiragram PS of Kokrajhar district.

“On spot interrogation, he admitted that he had uploaded as well as shared objectionable and derogatory contents/photos in his timeline,” the police official said.

One MI Note 5 mobile handset, two SIM cards were seized from him.

He was produced before court of District & Sessions Judge, Kokrajhar.
