Thirty regular students of a high school in Lakhimpur district of Assam are in uncertainty as the admit cards to the higher secondary final examination, starting from February 12 next are not available in the school office.
The incident took place at Rajgarh Senior High School, Shimaluguri, Dhalpur in Lakhimpur district. It is learnt that the 30 students had submitted their required documents with fees for filling up of form for the HS examination-2018 through the general secretary of the students union of the school, Somkhur Narzary. But the general secretary has not submitted the filled forms along with fees to the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council depriving the examinees from appearing in the final examination.
On Wednesday, the deprived students entered the residence of Somkhur Narzary and recovered some documents of them which had been submitted to them for form fill-up. The students brought the general secretary to the school and kept him there till 4 in the afternoon.
Narzary is alleged to have received Rs 500 to Rs 2000 from the students for filling the forms for the HS examination.
According to the principal of the school, Debeswar Bhuyan, the admit cards of the 30 students were not with the school as they (the students) submitted the filled forms through the general secretary and he did not submit the same to the school.
Now with only three days left for the examination, the students are left with utmost uncertainty in appearing in the examination and the fear of losing one valuable academic year.
