To develop skills in processing and preservation of fruits and vegetables so as to encourage entrepreneurship among women a five-day long training to provide hands-on training in processing of fruits and vegetables concluded at Kacharitol village near Kalaigaon in Udalguri district of Assam from Friday last.
The programme organized by Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Udalguri in association with the Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat was graced as resource person by Dr Pallavi Deka and Pompi Borah from KVK, Udalguri.

The training involved processing of citrus fruits, seasonal vegetables and tomato by preparation of squash, sauce/ketchup, puree, pickles and candy.
Detailed information on equipments and utensils involved in processing was also provided.
In addition to this, important information on standards and preservatives related to food processing was also given to the trainees.

A total of 25 women Self Help Group members from three neigbouring villages participated in the training programme.
