A truck fully laden with illegal liquor was seized by Excise Department officials in Kokrajhar on Wednesday from Bamungaon area under Kokrajhar police station in the district of Assam.
According to information, acting on a tip-off, the Excise Department officials carried out a search operation and intercepted the truck laden with illegal liquor.
The truck bearing registration number AS-01 KC 1835 containing a large quantity of Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL) from Arunachal Pradesh was being taken illegally to Dhubri district in Assam. The total worth of the seized liquor is stated to be over Rs three lakhs.
The truck driver identified as one Adil Ali has also been arrested in this matter.
Excise inspector Murali Kouli said that based on specific information, the department official carried out an operation and seized the truck laden with illegal liquor.
