The Tour Operators Association of Assam (TOAA) and the Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh (TOAB) on Tuesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly promote the tourism spots of each other.
Both TOAA and TOAB will jointly launch a website soon which will provide detailed information about the tourism spots of Assam and Bangladesh.

A release from Assistant High Commissioner of Bangladesh stated that both the parties will form a committee to chalk out a marketing plan, provide tourism package at a concessional rate, promote tourism spots of each other, according to reports.
The two associations will also collaborate with the government of both the countries for improving safety, security and immigration facilities of the tourists, the release added.
The Assistant High Commissioner of Bangladesh in Guwahati, Shah Mohammad Tanvir said that tourism is a good sector for strengthening relationship between Bangladesh and northeast India.

Tanvir also said that medical, academic and religious tourism are the most important tourism packages of both the countries.
TOAA was formed in the conference hall of Prashanti Tourist Lodge, Directorate Of Assam Tourism complex, at Panbazar in Guwahati on August 8, 2009.
It was formed with an aim to unite all the stake holders of tourism in Assam to facilitate a common goal of tourism development in the state.
TOAB was formed in the year 1992 and was recognized as a trade organization by the Ministry of Commerce, Government of People’s Republic of Bangladesh in 2002 .
It was formed with an aim to develop and nourish tourism in Bangladesh and to promote tourism products of Bangladesh in the international arena.
