Assam transport minister Chandra Mohan Patowary on Monday revealed that six new flyovers will be constructed in the State.

During a meeting of the State Road Safety Council on Monday, Patowary announced that three flyovers will be constructed in Guwahati.

The flyovers will be built at Lokhra, Garchuk and Basistha Chariali area of the city.

Patowary also said that another three new flyovers will be constructed in Nagaon, Bongaigaon and Dibrugarh districts of Assam.

The transport minister also informed that the project of construction of the flyovers has been handed to National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).

He also said that the Detailed Project Report (DPR) is being carried out and is expected to be completed by September.

After the completion of DPR, the construction work of the flyovers will be started.

The construction work of the flyovers is expected to be started from October.
