Three persons have lost their lives in a road accident that took place in the wee hours in Jorhat district of eastern Assam on Wednesday.
The incident which took place in the bypass of the town led to the death of two women and a man.
As per reports, a family which was going to see a bride was coming from Sonapur and was on its way to Moran in a Bolero car bearing registration number AS-01-DJ-3650.
However, as the Bolero car reached Jorhat, a speeding truck bearing registration number AS-25-CC-6741 rammed into the vehicle leaving four persons dead on the spot.
The dead persons have been identified as Urmila Shah, Prabhavati Devi and Rabindra Shah.
Four people including a 14-year-old girl were also injured in the accident. The injured persons have been rushed to Jorhat Medical College and Hospital (JMCH).
The injured teenager identified as Mamata Rajkumari has been reported to be in a stable condition.
However, the other three injured persons – Pulak Das, Raju Sahu and Sudama Sahu- are said to be in a critical condition.
