The Assam State Election Commission has, vide an order dated November 21, appointed Tej Prasad Bhusal, ACS, Joint Secretary, General Administration Department, as election observer for Sonitpur district.

The observer will observe the ongoing process of panchayat elections till counting of the votes is complete.

Meanwhile, applications for postal ballot paper in form number 25 has been invited from government employees who will be engaged in poll duty on the day of polling in Sonitpur district, so that they may cast their votes through this postal ballot facility.

Applications will be received by the Postal Ballot Cell, Panchayat Election 2018, O/O Deputy Commissioner, Sonitpur up to November 29, 2018 and postal ballots will be issued by the same cell from November 30, 2018.

A drop box will also be placed at the above cell for dropping the postal ballots.
