SRF Foundation under the support of IndiGo airlines in collaboration with Department of Education, Government of Assam has initiated its IndiGo School Adoption & GetSmart (a mobile digital bus) programme in Lahowal block of Dibrugarh district of Assam through adopting 15 government schools.
A team of 40 member participants representing 15 government schools consisting of headmasters, teachers, DIET lecturers, SMC members, village heads is coming to learn, experience and understand the model school intervention of SRF Foundation in Tamulaikuchi ME School, Nartap ME School and Tamulikuchi LP School out of its 10 adopted schools in Dimoria of Kamrup (Metro), so that they can replicate the same in their own schools for holistic transformation of schools.

The IndiGo School Adoption & GetSmart (a mobile digital bus) programme under the support of IndiGo Airlines, implemented by SRF Foundation focusses on the holistic development of government schools to develop as model schools under components of physical, academic and digital transformation.
Under physical transformation, construction/renovation of toilets for boys and girls, provision of safe drinking water facility, play equipment, setting up of library-cum-resource centers, provision of classroom furniture and mini-science labs are planned.
Under academic upgrades, resources like teaching learning materials, training of head masters and teachers, block level academic mela, development of academic resource centre and engagement of out of school children.

And under digital transformation, a 20 computer systems equipped mobile lab with big screen and server loaded content will support the school teachers and students on daily basis to teach and learn their classroom content through audio-video-visual methods and after schools hours the bus will be placed in villages to promote digital literacy and digital based services free of cost.
SRF Foundation formally known as the ‘Society for Education and Welfare’ was set up in 1982 as the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm of SRF Limited.
The Foundation aims to provide quality education and training programmes that inspire children and youth from all sections of society to achieve individual aspirations and contribute to building a better society.
Currently, it is working with 269 schools of 21 locations spread across nine states of India, impacting 71,800 students and 3150 teachers.
