His visit to Kamakhya temple comes amid the Indian team’s over a month break from international cricket after the Sri Lanka tour.
Gambhir’s visit to the temple comes ahead of the Indian team’s two-match test series against Bangladesh scheduled to start on September 19 in Chennai.
Situated atop the Nilachal Hills, the Kamakhya Temple is one of the oldest and most revered centres of Tantric practices and one of the 51 Shakti Peeths.
