Four amateur boxers of Udalguri district undergoing coaching at the Dhaneswar Basumatary Boxing Training Centre in the heart of Udalguri town have punched their way to the forthcoming East Zone Boxing Championship.
The young boxers from the town in Assam have qualified for the championship which is being organised by the Boxing Federation of India (BFI).

Informing this, Dhaneswar Basumatary, chief coach of the boxing training centre said that a boy, Hiranya Boro (48kg) and three girl boxers Saya Brahma (42kg),Errica Basumatary (46kg) and Lovely Daimari (30kg) of his training centre were selected on March 17 last at a selection camp at SAI, Guwahati which was organised by the Assam Amateur Boxing Association for the championship
Boxers from Meghalaya,Sikkim and West Bengal will also take part in the championship besides Assam which will be held at Golaghat from March 24 to March 27 next.
